Trinity Village
Non-Profit Housing Corporation (TVNHC) in collaboration with
the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) established
a Homebuyers Club and Program to assist individual and families
in planning for and obtaining the "American Dream"
- homeownership.
The
Trinity Village Homebuyers Program consists of three components:

Home Links Program: Pre-purchase - Foreclosure Prevention
& Credit Counseling
TVNHC Program Initiatives target low to moderate income persons
who may have been rejected by financial institutions because
of past circumstances and/or bad decisions. To date the
program assisted over 100 families procure homes in the City
of Muskegon and maintain its property tax roll in excess of
$2.5 million.
The Homebuyers Education Course is a six week course designed
to provide expert information in a classroom setting, after
which a Certificate of Completion is awarded to participants
completing the six week program.
Financial assistance can be given as a one time gift of up to
$1500 on an "as funds are available" basis to only
those who have completed the six week course and have received
a valid Certificate of Completion. (Certificates are good
for one year from the date of award). Financial assistance
is only allocated for home purchases made in the City of Muskegon.
The Home Links Program is certified program through the Michigan
State Housing Development Authority that provides assistance
in:
The uniqueness of this program is that for qualified clients
there is up to $10,000 available for settlement of back debts.
This dept settlement is predicated upon acceptance plan to obtain
a mortgage and purchase a home.
